Grab N’ Go is back for Summer 2024!
We are excited to be able to offer Grab N' Go to children ages 1-18 years old again! All students who do not receive meals from other Summer Food Service Programs qualify for the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). Other SFSP locations include all YMCA Camps and Early Learning Centers, as well as other community programs.
We are an open, restricted site. This means that children need to be registered weekly. We plan to serve 600 kids meals each week. By having a sign up each week, it helps you know if you receive food or not. This should also improve the waiting line for families. We have worked with the State KSDE to develop this plan. Parents/Guardians must pick up for their child(ren).
When Carpooling, a Parent/Guardian must be present for each family. We ask that families register each student to assist with preparation and monitoring each week. This year, the sign-up will ask for more details to assist state guidelines. Federal guidelines state children may receive no more than 2 meals/snacks a day using SFSP.
The YMCA Grab N’ Go Pick-Up will provide food for 5 days of breakfast and suppers that will be sent home each Friday from 3:15pm-5:30pm or until we are out of bags of food. Between 5:00pm and 5:15pm, the line will open for others who are not on the lists. This will begin once the line has been checked that no more are on the current week’s sign up. Sign up will begin May 20 for a Friday pick up on May 24. The meals are for the following week for breakfasts and lunches. This will repeat weekly. The final Grab N’ Go pick up will be Aug. 2.
Reminder: If a student will be eating breakfast or supper the following week from another Summer Food Service Program Site/Summer School, they may not pick up from the YMCA Grab N' Go too.
